Can people working in workplaces that operate continuously take turns attending Friday prayers?

Daily tasks, crafts and professions, as well as work and travel undertaken to provide for one's family, are not considered valid excuses for postponing prayer. In the Qur'an it is stated, "Men whom neither trade nor sale distracts from the remembrance of Allah, performing prayer, and giving zakat. They fear a day in which hearts and eyes will be overturned." (an-Nur, 24/37) The employer or the person responsible at the workplace should provide employees and workers who wish to perform their prayers, especially the obligatory parts of Friday and daily prayers, with the opportunity to do so. However, employees should not abuse their working hours by using prayer as an excuse, and for the sake of workplace discipline and order, they should obtain permission from their employer or supervisors to perform prayers at work. Those who, due to their circumstances, are unable to attend Friday prayer should perform the regular noon (zuhr) prayer on that day. Accordingly, if only some employees at a workplace are granted permission, those permitted may attend Friday prayer, while the others should perform the regular noon prayer.
