Can the Friday prayer be delayed to increase the congregation?

The time for the Friday prayer is the same as the time for the noon (zuhr) prayer (Mevsılî, el-İhtiyâr, 1/82). The Friday prayer is valid as long as it is performed within this time frame. Although it is more virtuous to perform prayers at the beginning of their prescribed time, there is no harm in delaying it a little to allow for greater participation of the congregation. Accordingly, taking into account the situation of the congregation or working hours, it is permissible to perform the Friday prayer at a time when more people can attend.
