Can women recite supplications while menstruating or in postpartum bleeding?

Women may recite supplications (du‘a) while menstruating or in postpartum bleeding; they may also recite verses from the Qur’an that carry the meaning of remembrance (dhikr) and supplication. In addition, they may recite the testimony of faith (kalimat al-shahada), the declaration of God’s oneness (kalimat al-tawhid), seek forgiveness (istighfar), and send blessings upon the Prophet (salawat al-sharifa). They may read and study works of tafsir, hadith, and fiqh.
