Can zakat be given to a wet nurse and a milk-father?

Zakat cannot be given to one's direct ascendants and descendants, that is, to one's mother, father, grandparents, children, and grandchildren. (Mevsılî, el-İhtiyâr, 1/120) This is because if a person gives zakat to those whom they are obliged to support, the zakat would indirectly return to themselves. However, the one who gives zakat should not derive any material benefit from it and should not benefit from the zakat given. Moreover, in such a case, the condition that the property given as zakat must be transferred to the ownership of the needy person would also be violated. Since a wet nurse and a milk-father are not among those whom a person is obliged to support, zakat can be given to them.
