Does a patient undergoing peritoneal dialysis lose their ablution?

Peritoneal dialysis is a treatment method used for kidney failure. In this method, a catheter is placed into the abdominal cavity. Dialysis fluids are introduced through this catheter to fill the abdominal cavity. The peritoneum acts as a filter. Harmful substances and excess fluids in the blood pass into the fluid in the abdominal cavity. By draining this fluid, the excess fluid and toxic substances accumulated in the body are expelled.

As explained above, the fluids introduced into and later removed from the abdominal cavity of kidney patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis are considered, from a religious perspective, as the discharge of an impure substance from the body. Therefore, the same care that is taken to avoid contact with urine should also be shown for this fluid. The discharge or removal of the aforementioned fluid from the body, as described, invalidates ablution just as the discharge of any religiously impure substance from the body does under normal circumstances.
