Is any action taken if it is later realized that a deceased person was not buried facing the qibla?

It is Sunnah to bury the deceased on their right side with the face turned toward the qibla. However, if the deceased is unknowingly buried in a direction other than the qibla, the grave is left as it is. This is because it is not permissible to open a grave without a legitimate excuse. (Ibn Abidin, Radd al-Muhtar, 2/238)
