Is it necessary to follow a specific order when making up missed prayers (qada)?

Whether or not a specific order must be followed when making up missed prayers depends on the situation of the person performing them. Accordingly, those who are considered “sahib-i tertip”—that is, those who do not have six or more missed prayers—should perform their missed prayers in the order they were missed, starting with the earliest, and then perform the obligatory prayer of the current time. According to the Hanafi school, following this order is obligatory (wajib) for sahib-i tertip individuals (Semerkandî, Tuhfe, II, 231; Aliyyü’l-kârî, Fethu bâbi’l-‘inâye, I, 357). For those who are not sahib-i tertip, there is no obligation to observe any particular order when making up missed prayers.
