Is it objectionable to speak while performing wudu or ghusl?

Speaking while performing wudu or ghusl does not invalidate the wudu or ghusl. However, unless there is a necessity, it is not appropriate to speak. A person who begins to perform wudu or ghusl should focus on the act of worship and distance themselves as much as possible from worldly occupations, feelings, and thoughts.
