Is it permissible to recite the Qur'an in the presence of a deceased person?

According to the Hanafis, it is disliked (makruh) to recite the Qur'an in the room where the deceased is present until the body has been washed. There is no objection to reciting it elsewhere. After the body has been washed, it is also permissible to recite the Qur'an beside the deceased. (el-Fetâva’l-Hindiyye, 1/157; Ibn Abidin, Reddü’l-muhtâr, 2/193-194) According to the Shafi'is, it is disliked to recite the Qur'an before the burial. (Ramli, Nihâyetü’l-muhtâc, 2/438)
