Is there a special prayer or form of worship specific to the Kandil nights?

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) recommended making the most of certain blessed days and nights (Bukhari, Sawm, 6 [1901]; Muslim, Salat al-Musafirin, 175 [760]; Bayhaqi, Ma‘rifat al-Sunan wa’l-Athar, 4/420 [6676]), and he himself did so (Tirmidhi, Sawm, 39 [739]; Ibn Majah, Iqamat al-Salawat, 191 [1389]; see Nawawi, al-Majmu‘, 5/42-43). However, he did not mention any specific prayer or form of worship exclusive to these days and nights. In this context, we should see blessed days and nights as opportunities for forgiveness and self-reflection. Therefore, on Kandil nights, believers should review the course of their lives, repent for their mistakes and sins, make supplications, read and strive to understand the Qur’an, and perform missed or voluntary prayers to make the most of these opportunities.

It is recommended (mustahabb) to fast during the day following the Kandil nights. For the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “When the fifteenth night of Sha‘ban (i.e., the night of Bara’a) comes, spend that night in worship and fast during its day. For Allah descends to the lowest heaven at sunset on that night and says until dawn: ‘Is there anyone seeking forgiveness so that I may forgive him? Is there anyone seeking provision so that I may provide for him? Is there anyone afflicted so that I may grant him well-being? Is there anyone who asks...’” (Ibn Majah, Iqamat al-Salawat, 191 [1388]; see Tirmidhi, Sawm, 39 [739]).
