Where should one look while standing (qiyam) in prayer at Masjid al-Haram?

As in other places, a person performing prayer in Masjid al-Haram should look at the place of prostration while standing (qiyam). This is because the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to look at the place of prostration during prayer. (Mevsılî, el-İhtiyâr, 1/48; Ibn Abidin, Reddü’l-muhtâr, 1/477) There is no dislike (karahah) in looking at a point within one’s field of vision without turning the head. (Marghinani, al-Hidaya, 1/64) Accordingly, the person praying may also look at the Kaaba.
